The collection of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities includes the following works:
- Publications of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities and its research institutes and research projects
- Publications of the academies in German-speaking countries
- General works of reference on diverse fields of knowledge
- Special libraries on research projects

Monday to Thursday 9:00–17:00, Friday 9:00–13:00

Asset management and access
Users can search the collections (print and online) using our online catalogue (OPAC) provided the assets in question have been added to the system. We are continuously expanding this service.

Access to research project records is subject to approval from the project owner. Please contact the library staff if you have any questions about the collection or how to access various assets.
The first two numbers of the shelf-mark indicate the location within the academy, which you can find with the help of the location list.

The library of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities is a reference-only library and does not lend out assets.
Non-members of the academy must make an appointment to visit the library.

International publication exchange
As part of a national and international publication exchange programme, the academy receives approximately 2,500 books from around 600 exchange partners in 53 countries every year. Most are passed on to the Bavarian State Library and can be accessed there.
