Organisation

The Academy has the status of a statutory body under public law. It is overseen by the President, who is elected from member ranks for a three-year term. Together with the Executive Committee – which also includes spokespersons from each of the four sections as well as the General Secretary – the President manages Academy business. The Academy has been based in the Munich Residenz royal palace since 1959, and numerous research projects are located at Bavarian universities.

Executive Committee
