Members
The Academy elects ordinary members from the state of Bavaria and corresponding members from the rest of Germany and other countries. A candidate is eligible for membership if they have distinguished themselves with outstanding academic achievements. Candidates cannot apply for membership themselves. The Academy currently has 208 ordinary members, 98 corresponding members, 20 extraordinary members and two honorary members.

The members belong to four different sections covering the entire spectrum of disciplines:
