Research and infrastructure

As a non-university research institute, the Academy conducts long-term basic research in the humanities, social studies, the natural sciences and technology/engineering. Its researchers use innovative methods to produce extensive databases, accurate series of measurements, scholarly dictionaries, complex modelling and critical editions to enable further research. The scope of research conducted in various institutes and agencies and in over 100 projects covers everything from baroque ceiling painting to glaciology and from cuneiform script to quantum computing.
