Complex inflammatory skin diseases – from gene to function
Workshop des Jungen Kollegs
Non-communicable inflammatory skin diseases such as psoriasis or atopic eczema are a major challenge of modern medicine. They are relevant because they are prevalent, severely affect the quality of life of patients and have a major socio-economic impact. They are challenging because their complex pathogenesis is based on the interaction of genetical predisposition, environmental influences, and an altered immune system. In this workshop, we will elaborate the pathogenesis mosaic of non-communicable inflammatory skin diseases, and finally try and puzzle the pieces together with an index case – psoriasis.
