Statutes of the Theodor Müller Fund

In memory of art historian Theodor Müller, an ordinary member of the Academy who passed away on 28 August 1996, the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities has established the Theodor Müller Fund and has adopted these Statutes.

Section 1 Assets

The assets of the endowment fund are derived from the proceeds of the sale of the house at 5 Hermine-Bland-Str., which Theodor Müller bequeathed to the Academy.

Section 2 General provisions

The capital income from the Theodor Müller Fund is intended to support the Academy’s research work and initiatives. Furthermore, it is in line with Theodor Müller’s intention to use these funds to enhance the Academy’s guest services.

Section 3 Legal status

The endowment fund is not legally independent. Its assets form part of the Academy’s assets as a special-purpose fund and they are managed by the Academy’s Executive Committee in accordance with its Statutes.

Section 4 Use of proceeds

The Executive Committee decides on the use of the income from the endowment fund by a simple majority.
The Executive Committee may set aside income which, for reasonable grounds, cannot be used in accordance with the fund’s purpose during a financial year, for distribution at a later date or for addition to the capital.

Section 5 Motions

Applications for funding from the Theodor Müller Fund may be submitted by any ordinary member of the Academy.

Section 6 Amendment of the Statutes

These Statutes may be amended by a unanimous resolution of the Executive Committee and the Academy’s plenary meeting.
