Applications are closed — Scholarships for Ukrainian Researchers at Risk
UPDATE (April 26): Applications are now closed!
The Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities is the largest and one of the oldest academies of sciences and humanities in Germany. It pursues innovative long-term research, connects scholars across disciplines and national boundaries, supports early-career researchers and provides a platform for dialogue between the scientific community and the wider public.
As an institution committed to promoting freedom and democracy, the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities condemns the Russian military attack on Ukraine and extends its full solidarity to the people affected by the war. To support Ukraine’s scientific community, it has established a fund for scholarships for researchers who can no longer pursue their academic work safely in their home country because of the current situation. It seeks to offer immediate and unbureaucratic assistance for Ukrainian scholars who wish to continue their research work at a university or research institute in Germany.
Up to five scholarships are available for a period of four months. The scholarship includes a monthly stipend of EUR 2,500; assistance with finding research partners will also be provided.
Eligible are Ukrainian doctoral candidates, postdocs and established scientists from all disciplines.
