SUMMARY:Digital Restitution of Cultural Heritage. Perspectives from the Phi
 lippines and Germany
DESCRIPTION:Round Table\n\nThe digital documentation and dissemination of c
ultural heritage open up new possibilities for research, public engagement,
and international collaboration. At the same time, they raise important qu
estions about how to deal with colonial collections: What role can digital
technologies play in the restitution or accessibility of cultural objects?
What opportunities and limitations does “digital restitution” offer for sou
rce communities, museums, and academic research? The round table “Digital R
estitution of Cultural Heritage. Perspectives from the Philippines and Germ
any” brings together experts from Germany and the Philippines to discuss th
e handling of colonial collections and digital strategies of restitution fr
om different academic and institutional perspectives. The discussion will f
ocus on issues such as digital documentation, accessibility, collaboration
with source communities, and new forms of restitution and knowledge product
ion in the digital sphere. The event offers insights into current research
and invites participants to reflect on the possibilities and challenges of
digital restitution.\n\nWithout prior registration!\n\ndiscuss with our gue
