SUMMARY:Munich AI Lecture: A Cryptographic Perspective on Machine Learning
 Trustworthiness Challenges
DESCRIPTION:About the lecture\n\nFor decades, cryptographic tools and model
s have transformed technology platforms controlled by worst-case adversarie
s into trustworthy platforms. In her lecture, Prof. Goldwasser will describ
e how the toolkit of cryptography and interactive proofs can address trust
challenges in various phases of the machine learning pipeline.\n\nThe lectu
re also will be available via Livestream on YouTube (no registration needed
).\n\nAbout Prof. Goldwasser\n\nShafi Goldwasser is the Leighton Family Pro
fessor of Mathematics at MIT, the C. Lester Hogan Professor in Electrical E
ngineering and Computer Sciences at UC Berkeley (on leave), and an Emeritus
Professor in the Computer Science and Applied Mathematics Department at th
e Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel. She is a former Director of the
Simons Institute for the Theory of Computing and co-founder and Chief Scien
tist of Duality Technologies.\n\nMunich AI Lectures\n\nThe Munich AI Lectur
es are a public lecture series that brings leading international researcher
s in the field of Artificial Intelligence to Munich. The goal is to make th
e latest knowledge understandable, stimulate societal discussion, and build
bridges between science, politics, business, and the public. The Munich AI
Lectures are a joint initiative of BAIOSPHERE, BAdW, bidt, Helmholtz AI, L
MU, TUM, AI-HUB@LMU, ELLIS Munich Unit, relAI, MCML, MDSI at TUM, MIRMI, co
